Continued Professional Development

"All members of The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) are encouraged to participate in continuing education as a basic professional responsibility to society. The principle of maintaining currency is set forth in the AICP Code of Ethics. The AICP Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provides the mechanism to meet this professional obligation on a voluntary basis.

CPD's primary purpose is to encourage all certified planners to pursue systematic programs of continuing education. CPD is more than a record keeping and documentation system. It also promotes the quality and availability of continuing education opportunities for planners throughout the United States." - The American Planning Association
